Bart Michiels

Bart Michiels è nato in Belgio, è cresciuto sulle pianure costiere delle Fiandre e ha studiato fotografia alla St. Lukas Hoger Instituut voor Beeldende Kunsten (ora Hogeschool Sint-Lukas) a Bruxelles. Michiels attualmente risiede e lavora a New York City. Nel 1995 ha vinto he Project Competition (Santa Fe) con la sua serie Riverworks, mentre con la serie The Course of History è stato finalista nel 2006 al Santa Fe Prize for Photography  e nel 2010 al Le Prix HSBC Pour la Photographie (Francia). Le sue opere sono state esposte a livello internazionale e sono incluse nelle collezioni di Bank of America, The Tennessee Valley Authority, The Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art a Kansas City, The Milwaukee Museum of Art e molti altri.
