Thursday, February 9, 2023 cinematographer Sir Roger Deakins will receive the first-ever Career Achievement Award at the 2nd annual Tribute to the Crafts at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica. The invitation-only event will be co-hosted by American Cinematheque Board members, producer Paula Wagner and producer and Founder/CEO of The Black List, Franklin Leonard.
The day before, Wednesday, February 8 at 6.30 pm the American Cinematheque will host a special double feature retrospective with two of Deakins' most seminal works Fargo and The Man Who Wasn’t There. In addition to a special one-on-one Q&A, Deakins will also be available to sign copies of his first photo book, Byways (Damiani, 2021) which showcases his extraordinary portrait and landscape photographs.
