Opening on 3rd October in Verona at the Scavi Scaligeri International Photography Centre, an exhibition of around sixty photographs by the most important Italian and foreign photographers who have investigated the theme of the abstract.
The works, from the collections of the Museum of Contemporary Photography, deal with research which, from the 1930’s to the early years of our century, has photographed light, sign and colours, eluding the representative and realistic logic of the photographic medium. Among other things we point out the chimigrams by Pierre Cordier and Olivo Barbieri, the sign-rich landscapes of Franco Fontana, and Mario Giacomelli’s signs of ploughed fields.
